Yard of Taste sits down a quiet side street in the middle of Zante Town — easy to walk right past, if you don’t know it’s there. Behind the gate, the noise of the city disappears. Mismatched chairs, plants climbing the walls, tables scattered under the open sky.
Giota Papadopoulou opened it to do something new for the island — proper vegan and gluten-free cooking, served alongside classic Greek dishes, all made with fresh, organic ingredients. It’s still run that way today, now with her children by her side.
You won't find us on the main street. You'll find us by accident, and then you'll come back on purpose.

The Chef
Cooking with care,
not shortcuts.
Mrs Giota Papadopoulou trained as a personal trainer before she ever ran a kitchen — and that background never left her. She cooks the way she believes food should make you feel: fresh, honest, and never heavy for the sake of it.
Local, organic ingredients, dishes made from scratch, and full attention to vegan and gluten-free guests — not as an afterthought, but as half the menu. Nothing here is complicated for the sake of looking clever.
Good food should make you feel better, not just full.
— GIOTA PAPADOPOULOU, CHEF & OWNER
The Family
The people who
make it
feel right
Behind every dish and every table there’s a small team that’s mostly family, and mostly locals. Giota runs the kitchen, her kids Lefteris and Michaela are on the floor and behind the bar, and the rest of the team has been with us for years — they know the regulars, and they know how to make a stranger feel like one too.
